What does a bipolar brain feel like (separate to the CPTSD):

New poem by me – took me 3 minutes so it’s not going to be the best.

It’s hell. It’s darkness. It’s also exhilarating. Misunderstood. The brain is heavy. You have headaches. A fear of death. You can write more but read less.

The mind I lost

Exhilarating thought of rapid ideas

A flow of writing reflecting previous years

A sip from a coffee cup to ease the dreadful blow,

Until it spills what the world will sadly know.

Left alone in thought, in darkness and in pain,

Realisation hits; you’ll never be the same.

The mind in discomfort, you seek to find answers,

From the world of enlightenment; writers, artists , dancers.

The brain malfunctions with intense despair,

You know in your heart the real you is still there.

The body reacts, a nervous system in pain,

On the outside you look normal, on the inside you’re insane.
