My only advice to psychologists and psychiatrists is if a BPD patient has evidence of one abusive incident, if their symptoms appear BPD, put it under PTSD so you can work on that trauma with therapy. The BPD label can mess your entire life up if left on the records because they’re turned away when seeking help for their symptoms and the trauma (s) has been unresolved. 💔 I’ve seen it in men and it destroys them. Gradually over the years I watched a guy who had BPD since a teenager when we got together at 17 slowly deteriorate into someone I don’t even know who is suicidal. I feel sorry for him. He said he can’t cope. And because he has BPD no one will help him. He said they don’t listen, they say it’s his personality.
I’m so grateful to the Scottish Justice system for recognising my pain.
This reinstates my trust with the Scottish system and puts me on the path of making sure I can finally get the help and support I needed a long time ago.
Although it’s going to be a journey because I’m experiencing multiple flashbacks a day. I have to try wait for the Sertraline to kick in. Because I need to make sure if I do get through this difficult patch it doesn’t come back like this. 💔
I had my weight checked today and I weigh 42kg. So I’ve lost 10kg through the distress. 💔
I’m now 6.5 stone. Very underweight.
I also have to put in a change of circumstances with the Scottish ADP team about everything but will ask my social worker to help me so I don’t have to look at the paperwork.
NHS Highland were right. I’m not ready for trauma therapy at least not until my brain isn’t flash-backing so much.
Because it’s not going to be an easy road. It’s going to be difficult.
Especially when you’ve gone through multiple traumas.
I paid the price of a “BPD” label on my records from England. I don’t want my ex with actual BPD not getting the help he needs too. I don’t want him to be consumed by his alcohol and drug addiction.
But it’s not the same thing. BPD and NPD is PTSD.
CPTSD is basically prolonged trauma in and you can have PTSD on top. So when you have PTSD attacks start and the CPTSD symptoms, you’ll find you will also lose the come and go BPD symptoms when the catastrophic personality change has happened.
So it’s a label to define what appears to be a “borderline” with PTSD symptoms. But it’s not BPD. Because BPD is PTSD which is why it looks similar. My recent ex with BPD who we met a few weeks ago after I moved out of my mums has got worse and lost his mind when his mother passed. No doctor wants to help him. He wants me to help him but I can’t go near him. Because of our history. That’s my issue not his. My hands twitch and I’m in fear thinking back to him. We stayed together too long. Prolonged trauma right? I just got unlucky in life.
BPD and NPD are not personality disorders. It’s childhood PTSD. Just buy the PTSD workbook. They need to update them labels.
I think BPD and NPD to be added as subcategories in PTSD category so they can get help sooner. If my first love dies from his BPD that’s another trauma to add to my books and then I’ll regret not changing the system on time.
