CPTSD is formed during your childhood. So any external trigger can send you into a crisis that can last months.
Not everyone with CPTSD will have a crisis, especially if they’ve received prior support from mental health teams. I’ve never had any support from mental health teams because they always lied on my paperwork and ignored me. The only professionals who told the truth were the ambulance service, the hospitals, and the police.
For whatever reason, I wasn’t allowed help in my life when I lived in England.
And then Steve at the mental health team re triggered it by betraying me.
So in other words, for me to stabilise, and not keep going into the past in a crisis, people need to not betray my trust and be nice to me.
